As of July 9, 2024 this project was put on hold, no definite date for the rebid. The Allen Parish Police Jury is seeking a vendor to supply a modular steel bridge structure only for the replacement of the Park Road Bridge. The construction of abutments and installation of the bridge will be bid under separate contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section; and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity. When this project is financed either partially or entirely with State Bonds or financed in whole or in part by federal or other funds which are not readily available at the time bids are received, the award of this Contract is contingent upon the granting of lines of credit, or the sale of bonds by the Bond Commission or the availability of federal or other funds. The State shall incur no obligation to the Contractor until the Contract Between Owner and Contractor is fully executed. Description and Scope - The Allen Parish Police Jury will be receiving bids for a vendor to supply a modular steel bridge structure for replacement of the Park Road Bridge in Allen Parish. A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS - Short span beam bridges Design-build -The bridge supplier shall, under the provisions contained herein, design, fabricate, and deliver to the job site, ready for installation one (1) modular steel bridge designed for HL-93 Live Loading, complete with guard rail system. The guiderail system should conform to roadway applications for TL-2 impact strength. Dimensions - The bridge superstructure shall be 38 feet long and 24 feet wide, with skewed ends at the north and south abutment walls, Reference Figure No. A - Schematic Bridge Deck Plan. The length of superstructure shall be from out-to-out and does not include wing-wall or back-wall dimensions which must be added for total bridge system layout. The width shall be the clear roadway between guard rails. Bolt-together - The modular bridge should incorporate a full bolt-together design that minimizes the need or requirement for field-welding on the bridge. Minimal field welding may be required for the anchoring system. Each bridge module should incorporate more than one main support beam to maximize safety and eliminate a "fracture critical" designation. Bridge Handling - Each bridge module should be designed and supplied with a minimum of four (4) or more integral lifting lugs to facilitate safe handling and placement of the bridge module. Bridge Installation - Each modular steel bridge should be delivered with a comprehensive installation plan that provides manufacturer's recommended handling, placement, fit-up and securing to the abutment system. The installation plan should be laminated and suitable for review in a field environment. Offloading of the bridge at the delivery site, general bridge installation, and approach work necessary for the bridge to accept traffic will be supplied by contractors approved by the owner under separate contract from the bridge.
