Renovation of a development in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a development.

**As of July 29, 2024 the bids received were much higher than expected and was rejected. As of this time it is unknown if and when project will rebid. Submittal of Bids. All bids must be submitted on the forms furnished by the City. Bids must conform with, and be responsive to, the Instructions to Bidders and other bid documents, copies of which may be obtained from the City as set forth above. Only bids submitted to the City in a sealed envelope, plainly marked prior to the date and time set forth above for the public opening and reading of the bids will be considered. Bids must be submitted to the location as set forth above. Bid Bond: Bids, accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check or a bid bond payable to the City of Rolling Hills Estates in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Questions and Clarification: Questions and clarifications on this project, must be submitted in writing and emailed to David Wahba, Public Works Director, at DavidW@rollinghillsestates.gov. The last day to submit questions is Thursday, June 13, 2024, by 5:30 PM. Required Contractor's License(s): The contractor must possess a valid Class A contractor's license at the time that the contract is awarded. The successful Contractor and all subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City of Rolling Hills Estates prior to commencing any work. Prevailing Wage Laws: The successful bidder must comply with all prevailing wage laws applicable to the project, and related requirements contained in the contract documents. Copies of the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract, as determined by Director of the State of California Department of Industrial Relations, are on file at the City Hall, City of Rolling Hills Estates, 4045 Palos Verdes Drive North, Rolling Hills Estates, California 90274. Retention and Substitution of Securities: The AGENCY will deduct a 5-percent retention from all progress payments. The Contractor may substitute an escrow holder surety of equal value to the retention. The Contractor will be beneficial owner of the surety and will receive any interest thereon. Apprentices and Affirmative Action: Attention is directed to the provisions of Labor Code section 1777.5 (concerning the employment of apprentices by the Contractor or any subcontractor. Affirmative action to ensure against discrimination in employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, religion, or handicap will also be required. Minor Business Enterprises: The AGENCY hereby affirmatively ensures that minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, or religion in any consideration leading to the award of contract. Reservation of Rights: The AGENCY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity and to take all bids under advisement for a period of 45 days.
