The contractor shall close the roadway, utilizing appropriate signage and coordinate with Barlow Township a minimum of 1 week prior to road closure, in accordance with the Ohio MUTCD, CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS. The contractor shall ALSO field verify the location of existing centerlines and furnish and install temporary centerline following paving, payment to be included in ITEM 614 MAINTAINING TRAFFIC. Payment for this item shall be by the lump sum including all labor and materials necessary for maintaining traffic. Contractor shall coordinate with Barlow Township to allow for proper road closure notification and coordination, the road shall be closed to through traffic and asphalt placed in a single lift, full width of road. Paving machine shall be capable of placing a crown of Winch per foot on all roadways, with crown centered within 6 inches of actual center of existing roadway. The road shall be paved full width. Tack coat shall not be used on existing chip seal surface. Tack coat shall be applied at a rate not to exceed 0.08 gal/sy if field conditions dictate on stone road section of project. Coordinate with Barlow Township to make final decision on tack coat application. The work to be performed under this contract shall consist of the furnishing of all services, labor, materials and equipment that shall be required for the resurfacing of various County Roads in accordance with these specifications. All proposed work is to be completed in accordance with the 2019 Construction and Material Specifications (CMS) of the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation (ODOT), and all applicable ODOT standard drawing relating to resurfacing The contractor shall furnish proof of certification of all materials used in the project in accordance with the plans and specifications that are on file in the office of the Barlow Township Trustees. The contractor shall maintain all traffic in accordance with the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, latest edition. The work proposed under this contract is located on Barlow Township T-39, Bell Road. The roads that are preliminarily proposed to be paved are shown herein. However, some roads in part or in total may be deleted or others added depending on bid prices, availability of funds or road conditions may dictate. Also the amount of material required and the overlay thickness on each road or portions of roads may vary depending on the condition of the road at the time of paving. Engineer Estimate: $211,858.00. It shall be understood that the Township reserves the right to add or delete roads or portions of roads at its discretion.
