Renovation of an educational facility in Burnham, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 15,103-square-foot educational facility.
The project shall consist of one lump sum base bid proposal for the following work: Roof replacement of approximately 15,103 SF of existing roofing system with an adhered PVC roofing system, high R-value insulation, wood blocking, flashing and all necessary accessories as indicated on the Project Drawings and herein specified. All proposals shall be enclosed and sealed in an envelope and have a space on the outside of the envelope properly filled in with the name of the Contractor, name of the trade, name of the job and date of opening. All contractors submitting bids must submit a completed Contractor's Qualification Statement (AIA Document A305) and a minimum of three (3) public school district references where the contractor has completed work of a similar nature in the past five (5) years. This information must be submitted with the Bid Proposal and shall be considered a required Bid Document. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualification. Contractors submitting bids shall be notified after Bid Opening as to the Bidder's List and Base Bid Proposal by all Contractors. If any person contemplating submitting a bid for proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the plans, specifications, or other proposed contract documents, he may submit to the Architect a written request for the interpretation thereof. The Contractor shall not submit a request after 72 hours before bid opening. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the proposed documents will be made only by addendum duly issued and a copy of such addendum will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of documents. The Architect will not be responsible for any other explanations or interpretations of the proposed documents A maximum of three (3) sets shall be issued to Contractors and one complete set to Subcontractors and Suppliers. Additional sets may be obtained at a non-refundable cost of $75.00 each. Sets will be mailed to applicants for an additional flat handling-and-mailing charge of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) per set, for which a separate check shall be issued, payable to the Architect. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
