Saving Project...

Renovation of a municipal facility in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

As of June 13, 2024 project was awarded to Johnson Sign Company, awarded amount is $106,831.50. Reference Number 0000352076 The City of Lincoln Park is accepting sealed bids for upgrading two electronic message centers and removing a letterboard sign and installing an electronic message center. Questions are submitted online No The City of Lincoln Park reserves the right to waive any irregularity, accept or reject any or all bids, accept or reject partial bids, split any or all bids, and accept proposals that are in the best interest of and to the advantage of the City of Lincoln Park. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 90 days after the date of bid opening.. The bid award may not be based solely upon the lowest pricing, other factors such as references, equipment, qualifications, and the needs of the city may be considered. The city has two digital signs and one letterboard sign that is used to relay information to its residents. The digital signs are located on Fort Street at Memorial Park, and on Southfield Road just west of Fort Street. The letterboard sign is located at the Community Center on Dix Highway just south of the intersection at Gregory Avenue. The program used for adding information to the two digital signs dates back approximately 8 years and is limited to accessibility by a single person or computer. If another staff member attempts to utilize the program on a different device, it results in the unintentional overwriting of any existing information displayed on the sign. Meanwhile, the letterboard sign can only display very limited information and requires staff to physically go out to the sign to change information. The sign at Memorial Park has been inoperative for nearly a year due to malfunctioning components. While the repair will render the sign functional, it's crucial to note that the technology and resolution of these signs will remain outdated even after the restoration. The Community Center sign has far exceeded its life span and can no longer be repaired. All of the internal electrical has failed and the plastic letter boards are cracked and broken The contractor will be responsible for the following: Sign 1: Southfield Median just West of Fort Street o New 2-sided, 10mm EMC (4'2"x 7'11" display area) to be installed on the existing foundation Sign 2: 3240 Ferris (Fort Street at Memorial Park) o New 2-sided, 10mm EMC (4'2"x 7'11" display area) to be installed on the existing foundation Sign 3: 3525 Dix (Community Center) o New illuminated sign cabinet with masonry base built o New 2-sided, 10mm EMC (4'2"x9'5" display area) to be installed on a new foundation with steel polls in concrete footings and removal of existing sign to grade and disposal May 17 Final date for clarification of questions Dennis Anderson, Parks and Recreation Director, (313) 622-4516, danderson@citylp.com Ashley McInchak, City Management Coordinator, (313) 827-4465, citymanagement@citylp.com
