Site work and paving for a civil project in Davenport, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for paving for a road / highway; and road / highway.

Project involves the first phase of levee construction protecting the Davenport WPCP and Compost Facility against 500 Year +3 ft. flood levels (or 569.00 MSL). Generally, the project includes construction of an earthen levee protecting the southern and easterly perimeter of the WPCP & Compost Facility property along with detention basin/interior drainage installations and a combined storm water and Effluent Pump Station. The project includes construction of approximately 115,000 CY of levee embankment fill, levee foundation preparation and repair, removal of interior berms as called out on plans at the City's Compost Facility, excavation and grading to convey flows to an existing area designated for stormwater detention, and installation of an 18" storm sewer outlet pipe to the Mississippi River from the combined storm water and Effluent Pump Station. Sewer and utility construction consists of approximately 2,500 LF of storm sewer piping (15"-36" dia.), 3,650 LF of 6" seepage sewer drain, 375 LF of 8" sanitary sewer replacement, 10 flared end sections, 12 manhole/intake structures, 2 storm gatewell structures (24" sluice gates), and relocations of water, gas, fiber optic, and electrical utilities. Work includes excavation and backfilling to existing grade elevations as well as surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000 submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. The awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance and Maintenance Bond, if contract amount is $100,000 or greater, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the workmanship and materials for a period of four years from the date of acceptance of the project by the City. Working Days - there is a project final completion date of December 30, 2025. Liquidated Damages - liquidated damages of $500.00 for each calendar day that work is not completed past the final completion date. As a majority of the project will be funded by U.S. EDA financing, regulations related to Davis-Bacon wages, and all other funding related requirements included in the specifications will apply to this project.
