The Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Goal applicable to this Project is 10%. Bids Will Be Received for This Project, Which Includes the Following: the Work to Be Performed Under the Contract for Project No. 43-24-10 Consists of the Demolition of the Existing Five-span Steel Beam Bridge at M.p. 227.6, Including Substructure, and Replacement With a Two-span Steel Beam Structure on Semi-integral Abutments and a Single Center Pier Support on Drilled Shafts. All Work is to Be Performed as Per the Plans, Drawings, Specifications, Special Provisions, Technical Specifications, and Other Contract Documents for This Project. The Small Business Enterprise (Sbe) Goal Applicable to This Project is 10%. Failure to Certify a Commitment to Meet the Sbe Goal or Failure to Satisfactorily Demonstrate Good Faith Efforts Used to Attain Sbe Participation for This Project Shall Be Grounds for the Commission to Consider the Bid Nonresponsive and May Cause the Bid to Be Rejected. The Commission Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids and to Waive Minor Irregularities or Technical Deficiencies. Surfaces to be painted include, but are not limited to: beams and girders; cross girders; steel components of bearings, diaphragms, cross frames; structural steel utility supports; and non-galvanized structural mounted sign supports. The coating system to be applied is an organic (epoxy) zinc-rich primer, an epoxy intermediate coat, and a urethane finish coat (System OZEU). Field touch-up of the inorganic zinc-rich primer is to be performed with an organic (epoxy) zinc-rich primer.
