DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK. Dock 12/13 requires the north dolphin to be vertical cut 16' down to the water line, approximately 16' tall x 4'thick X 25' wide, taken off the west side and a new structure wall to be poured in place with new fenders. A portion of the existing concrete and steel dock must be removed between dolphin 5 and 6, utilities maintained, and a new 8' diameter 1'' thick x 120' long mono pile needs to be driven to support a new 16'x16'x4' poured in place dolphin with fenders and bollard between dolphin 5 and 6 and the removed dock replaced with all utilities. The 172' X 6' treated wood walkway on the north will be removed and replaced by a new steel metal grate walkway with new handrail and lighting. This will be the basis for the low bidder. Add alternative will include removing a wood pile dolphin just east of Dock 14 on Rough and Ready Island and the second Add alternative will be for the other 3 wood pile dolphins in the vicinity. Another add alternative will be to remove all the treated wood piles under and around Dock 12/13 and south. Dock must be in operation and not delay shipping or traffic. Contractor to maintain utilities and provide safe temporary access for shipping, longshoremen and Port staff to all bollards and safety equipment. Work shall be finally completed within 60 calendar days from the date when Contract Time commences to run. Weekend work for shut downs and tie-ins is expected. REQUIRED CONTRACTORS LICENSE(S). A California A Contractor License is required to Bid this Contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. Port specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, or rebid, or to waive inconsequential deviations from Bid requirements not involving time, price, or quality of the Work.
