The site is located at 7051 Poindexter Road, New Kent, Virginia. The scope-of-work is for the selected bidder to provide water well construction & testing services in accordance with the Private Well Regulations for the Commonwealth of Virginia (12 VAC5-630). Under this scope-of-work, the completed well is expected to be: Permitted by VDH-Chickahominy Health District, Approximately 400 feet deep, Constructed of six-inch nominal diameter Certainteed Certa-Lok SDR-17 well casing, Containing a minimum 20 feet of stainless-steel wire wrapped well screen, Gravel packed, Sealed with bentonite slurry or bentonite-cement grout from the top of the water bearing formation to 50 feet BLS, Grouted with neat cement grout from 50 feet BLS to the surface, Developed for a minimum 8-hours by airlifting, swabbing and/or jetting, Free of sand, drilling fluid and other debris, Disinfected and sampled for bacteriological quality and turbidity, Pump tested for a minimum 4 hours to determine the approximate safe yield. The New Kent County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is soliciting bids from qualified vendors for construction and testing of a 6-inch by 400-foot Class IIIB potable water supply well. The Department of Public Utilities reserves the right to waive minor informalities in any bid received, to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, with or without cause. The Department reserves the right to reject any conditional bid and will normally reject any bid which makes it impossible to determine the intent of the bid.
