Renovation and addition to a municipal facility in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 12,500-square-foot municipal facility; and for the addition of a 1,800-square-foot municipal facility.

The Town of Hamilton is soliciting bids for the renovation, addition, and preservation of the historic Hamilton Town Hall. The Project consists of the restoration and renovation of Hamilton Town Hall (approx. 12,500 GSF), a new addition (approx. 1,800 GSF), and complete site work. Construction is historic wood framed, twostory with basement, wood siding, wood windows, asphalt shingle roof, and vault. New addition is to be wood framed, two-story with basement, wood siding, wood windows, asphalt shingle and EPDM roofs. Systems include hydraulic elevator, full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology and security, and fire protection systems. Sub-bids: Masonry, Metal Fabrication, Waterproofing, Dampproofing and Caulking, Roofing and Flashing, Resilient Flooring, Painting, Tiling, Lath and Plastering, Acoustical Ceiling Tiles, Holeless Hydraulic Elevators, Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical The estimated cost range of this Project is $6,000,000. In order to be eligible and responsible to bid on this project, General Bidders shall submit with their bid a current Certificate of Eligibility for Category of Work: Historical Building Restoration issued by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance, DCAMM (formerly the Division of Capital Planning and Operations, DCPO) -, together with an Update Statement. In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 44D and 810 CMR 4.00 all Filed Sub-Bidders are required to provide a Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility issued by DCAMM in their individual trades with a Sub-Bidder Update Statement. The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in accordance with Section 26 - 27H, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L., as amended, said schedule being made a part of the Contract Documents and is included therein. The Town of Hamilton is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and encourages participation from certified minority and women-owned businesses. All Bids and the Contract shall be subject to all applicable Bylaws, regulations and policies in effect in the Town of Hamilton, as they may be amended. If the Contractor shall neglect, fail or refuse to bring all of the required Work under the Contract Documents to Substantial Completion, as defined in the General Conditions, by the date stipulated in the Contract Documents, including authorized adjustments thereof, the Owner shall deduct from the sums otherwise due under the contract the sum of One Thousand dollars ($1,000.00), not as a penalty but as liquidated damages for such breach of the Contract, for each calendar day after said Substantial Completion date, or authorized extension thereof, up to and including the date that Substantial Completion is certified by the Architect. Selection of the contractor will be based upon bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including M.G.L. c. 30 39M and c. 149, 44A through 44J, as amended. The Awarding Authority is exempt from sales and federal excise tax to the extent permitted under law; bidders should not include such taxes in figuring or in references to any bid.
