As of May 5th, 2025 this project is pending site plan approval by the city. A construction manager has been confirmed. This project is expected to be advertised for sub bidding purposes in July/August of 2025. Project work includes: Safety and Security Improvements - Install a fire alarm system - Install a security camera system - Install a two-way phone system - Install a clock system - Install a card access system - Add new LED sign in front of the building - Repave the drop-off/pick-up loop - Install security boot system on office and classroom doors - Install safety glass film on windows Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Improvements - Replace air handling units in the kitchen - Renovate the kitchen into a warming kitchen - Replace water piping - Replace air conditioning units in offices - Replace air handling units in the gym, cafeteria, faculty resource room, and speech and social work rooms - Replace water treatment tanks and system - Replace water fountains - Replace temperature controls - Replace boiler systems - Add air conditioning to all classrooms - Replace classroom ventilators - Update geothermal well field - Replace electrical panels - Replace building electric service - Expand the electrical system to support technology Learning Environment / Technology Improvements - Remodel office walls, floors, and ceilings - Remove asbestos floor tile - Replace classroom floor, ceiling tiles, and grid - Replace corridor doors, frames, and hardware in the original building - Renovate restrooms (replace partitions, fixtures, and finishes) - Replace and fireproof corridor walls in the original building - Remodel the kitchen (walls and floor) - Update lighting and controls - Purchase student technology devices, printers, and instructional audio/visual systems - Replace classroom furniture Exterior Improvements - Replace select areas of the roof (front entrance, gym and cafeteria, and shingle roof) - Replace all exterior windows in the original section of the building - Replace soffit and fascia Athletic/Site Improvements - Install a new control system for the septic field - Update playground equipment and add soft- and hard-surface play areas - Replace select sidewalks and curbs - Repave the parking lot As of February 7, 2025 this project is in the pre-construction phase. A construction manager has been selected for the bond projects. Information regarding a design team has not been disclosed.
