Under California Laws and Regulations, the District shall inform all prime contractors of public works, to the extent feasible of relevant public work requirements. Therefore, the District hereby advises all bidders that the successful bidder shall Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the provisions of California Labor Code, Sections 1770 et seq., the District has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holidays, Saturdays and Sundays, and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of worker required to execute the contract. Said prevailing rate of per diem wages will be made available to any interested party upon request, and a copy thereof shall be posted at the job site. Each Bid must conform and be responsive to the invitation, the Plans and Specifications, and all documents comprising the pertinent Contract Documents. Each Bid shall be presented under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, cash or bidder's bond, made payable to the District, in an amount not less than ten (10) percent of the bid. The said check shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will execute the Contract in conformity with the form of agreement contained within the Contract Documents, and will furnish bonds and insurance policies as specified within ten (10) days after notification of the award of the Contract to the successful Bidder. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make awards to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it may best serve the interest of the District. No Bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening thereof. In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the District has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class A - General Engineering or a C-10 Electrical Contractor license. Per the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Section 7028.15, a Bid submitted to the District by a Contractor who is not licensed in accordance with Chapter 9 of the California Business and Professions Code shall be considered non-responsive and shall be rejected by the District. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5.
