The design and placement of each new sign within the City of Fort Myers will be tailored to the specific characteristics of its location, with available space serving as a determining factor. Adhering strictly to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and/or Lee County regulations, as dictated by the proposed road regulating authority, each sign will be meticulously crafted to meet prescribed standards regarding space, size, and site requirements. If proposed placement is approved in areas that are visible from the Interstate mainline, adherence to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regulations will also need to be abided. Incorporating both functionality and aesthetic appeal, the design of each sign will encompass not only the necessary supporting structure but also prominently featuring a "Welcome to the City of Fort Myers" or similar message. To ensure maximum visibility and accessibility, the final product will be strategically oriented to cater to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, as well as the broader roadside environment. Adherence to FDOT, FHWA, and/or Lee County stipulations will ensure that the signs are appropriately illuminated after dark, enhancing their effectiveness and safety features. With a commitment to longevity, all installations are expected to endure for a minimum of 20 years, with ownership vested in the City. Comprehensive proposals, inclusive of design, labor, material costs, and final installation expenses, must be submitted for consideration. All proposed designs will undergo rigorous review and approval processes by relevant authorities within the City. Each sign will include surrounding landscaping with no to low maintenance landscaping with non-invasive species and in adherence to FDOT, FWHA, and/or Lee County stipulations. In summary, this initiative underscores a meticulous approach to sign design and placement, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, longevity, and effective communication within the City of Fort Myers. The entire completed construction, or the various separately identified parts thereof, required to be furnished under the Contract Documents. Work is the result of performing services, furnishing labor and furnishing and incorporating materials and equipment into the construction, all as required by the Contract Documents.
