Site work for a civil project in Nelson, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and road / highway.
This contract is with BC Timber Sales in the Kootenay Business area and the project consists of 4.7km of new road construction and 2 concrete girder and one Steel/Concrete deck bridge installs. The road construction involves all phases of road construction including timber cut and removal, end haul, drill and blast rock, placed rock fills and surfacing. All culvert installs over 800mm must be compacted with a 1000lb plate compactor in 300mm lifts. This work is included in the "Culvert Install" payment category. All road sections must be constructed in accordance with Appendix II Road Design and Cross Sections unless otherwise directed. Changes will be required where material types do not match the design. Supply, delivery and installation of all culverts are the responsibility of the contractor. Supply, delivery and installation of 8 Standard Lock blocks and 10 Flat top lock blocks for N5-269. Coordination of delivery and offloading of the bridges is the responsibility of the contractor. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca Award is subject to final approval.
