The City of Salem, Virginia, is requesting sealed bids from qualified Bidders to provide arboriculture work, in accordance with Invitation to Bid (ITB) # 2024-040. The City of Salem reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding. No bid may be withdrawn after opening except for clerical errors, as set forth in Section 2.2-4330 of the Virginia Code. Offeror must give the City a notice in writing of the request to withdraw a bid within two (2) business days after conclusion of opening. The scope and purpose of this work is to provide arboricultural clearance pruning and hazard remediation along streets/right-of-way (ROW) for the City of Salem, VA - an area of 14.4 square miles. Arboriculture services shall include: pruning or removal of hazardous/potentially hazardous trees or other woody plant material (crown cleaning, removal of low-hanging limbs into ROW, sight obstructions, removal of dead/dying limbs, removal of entire trees, removal of competing vines, removal of competing scrub/weed trees), clean-up & removal of tree/detritus material and may include herbicide treatment of stumps. These services shall be for a period of twelve months beginning July 1 and ending June 30. Depending upon the results/productivity of work and/or available funds, annual funding may fluctuate. The City may opt to extend this Contract for a period of three years .
