Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Anchorage, Alaska. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The Proposed Action would: - Preserve the bridge decks by removing existing asphalt, removing spalled or unsound concrete, and fill voids with a polyester concrete overlay. - Remove the existing anti-icing systems on the bridges. - Repair or reconstruct bridge joints. - Remove existing guardrail, install new guardrail, and install new bridge rail/guardrail connections - Include limited earth disturbing activities including grubbing, excavation, backfill, and installation/replacement of guardrail posts as necessary to regrade a portion of the highway to match the new bridge deck elevation. - Include permanent erosion control measures, installation of temporary control measures, use of best management practices (BMPs), winter shutdown and final stabilization of the project site and removal of temporary control measures and BMPs. Location of Project: Anchorage, Alaska Contracting Officer: Sean Holland, P.E., Regional Construction Engineer Issuing Office: Central Region Description of Work: This federally funded contract will perform work at the Glenn Highway Knik River bridges and Peters Creek bridge. Work includes bridge deck and expansion joint repair work, guardrail, and paving. Limited duration bridge closures to perform the work will require detours and use of a movable concrete barrier system to change the number travel lanes for peak daily traffic flow direction during closures. The Engineer's Estimate is between $20,000,000 and $30,000,000 All work shall be completed in N/A Calendar Days, or by September 30, 2025. To be responsive, a bid must include a bid guaranty equal to 5% of the amount bid. (When calculating the bid amount for purposes of determining the 5% value of the bid guaranty, a bidder shall include its base bid amount, plus the amount bid for alternate and supplemental bid items, if any.) The apparent successful bidder must furnish a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract and a performance bond in the amount of 100% of the contract as security conditioned for the full, complete and faithful performance of the contract. The apparent successful bidder must execute the said contract and bonds within ten (10) calendar days, or such further time as may be allowed in writing by the Contracting Officer, after receiving notification of the acceptance of their bid.
