As of September 27, 2024, bid/contract no. MUN-2024-1027, Suffolk Downs Phase 1R Off-Site Roadway Improvements, has been awarded to The McCourt Construction Company, Inc. of South Boston, MA in the amount of $3,536,091.50 for their Base Bid + Alternate #1. Anticipated commencement of work has yet to be determined, pending contract execution. The estimated construction budgets for this project are $1.2M for the Base and $3.5M for the total. Bidders must be MassDOT certified in the category of Highway-Construction The project includes infrastructure, sidewalk, and signal improvements at the following locations: The intersection of Revere Beach Parkway (Route 16) Winthrop Avenue and Route 145; the intersection of Squire Road (Route 60) and Sigourney Street; the intersection of Lee Burbank Highway (Route 1A) Furlong Drive and Railroad Street; and the intersection of American Legion Highway (Route 60) and Harris Street in the City of Revere, Massachusetts. The improvements include enhancements to the pedestrian and roadway facilities at each location, including the installation of a new signalized crossing at the intersection of the American Legion Highway and Harris Street, signal upgrades at the intersection of the Revere Beach Parkway and Winthrop Avenue, and signal retiming at the intersection of Squire Road (Route 60) and Sigourney Street. The work also includes the installation of new cement and hot mix asphalt sidewalks, new cement concrete pedestrian ramps, removal and modification to existing medians, installation of vertical granite curbing, full depth pavement reconstruction, box widening, structural mill and overlay, new pavement marking installation, and installation of new signage.
