Site work for a road / highway in Hammond, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

This work shall include, but is not limited to, widening of Indianapolis Blvd, a new traffic signal and entrance at the Hammond Sportsplex, traffic signal improvements at 165th St and Indianapolis Blvd, and resurfacing on Indianapolis Blvd and 165th St, in the City of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. COMPLETION DATE: This work shall be substantially completed by November 1, 2024. All Bidders must be properly licensed in the City of Hammond at the time bids are received. Contractors may contact the Hammond Building Inspections Department to inquire on General Contractor and Subcontractors licensing and requirements, at 219.853.6316 or the Hammond website, online Inspections Department for applications. Please note that the Hammond Contracting Board only meets once per month, at the first Monday of every month at 6:00 pm in the Inspection Department Conference Room. The deadline for submitting an application and required information for a Hammond License is one week prior to the meeting. For this bid, the next deadline to submit an application is May 24, 2024 and then corresponding meeting date is June 3, 2024. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The City of Hammond reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The City of Hammond further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the City of Hammond or to reject all bids. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of Hammond or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. At the City's request, the Performance Bond may be made transferrable or made in the name of the Indiana Department of Transportation, or the Indiana Department of Transportation shall be named as a co-obligee of the bond at no additional cost at the time a notice to proceed is issued. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made. Standard Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2013) which includes non-collusion affidavit will be required. Document notes: A set consists of a set of plans and a set of specifications and bidding documents in electronic PDF format. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms contained in the Contract Documents.
