Brunson Elementary school will be located at 1201 North Patterson Ave, Winston-Salem, NC. The project consists of a new two-story building (w/ third level mechanical Penthouse) of approximately 103,000 SF. consisting of brick veneer, masonry bearing exterior walls, metal panels, steel columns interior structural system, painted masonry, metal stud framing, LGMF framing, Resinous Matrix Terrazzo, VCT, stained polished concrete and ceramic tile walls and Epoxy Resin flooring, Curtainwall and Storefront. Main program spaces are Gym, Stage, Media Center, Dining, Kitchen, Classrooms, and Offices. The exterior finish consists of utility brick, aluminum curtainwall, storefront, and insulated metal panels. The roof system is metal decking on open web joists with adhered single ply membrane on rigid insulation. The building is sprinkled. The mechanical system is a 4 pipe system with fan coil units, air cooled chiller and ERV. The total site is approximately 10.23 acres located between Patterson Ave and Ivy Street. Sitework includes: site grading, site utilities, asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, landscaping and exterior signage. This is a brownfields site.
