Submittal of a bid bond that is not in the appropriate amount, signed and stamped with the surety seal, or failure to submit a bid bond shall be cause for rejection of bid. If the successful bidder's bid exceeds $25,000, the successful bidder shall furnish a Payment Bond for not less than 100 percent (100%) of the total amount payable by the terms of this Agreement. The Payment Bond is due prior to the start date of work. Failure to maintain a Payment Bond for the full term of this Agreement will be grounds for termination for default in addition to other legal remedies CAL FIRE may have. Inadequate or lack of a Payment Bond does not negate the Contractor's obligations under this Agreement. Site walkthrough description: In the event a potential prime contractor is unable to attend the mandatory pre-bid walk-through, an authorized representative may attend on their behalf. The representative may only sign-in for one (1) company. Subcontractors may not represent a potential prime contractor at a mandatory pre-bid walkthrough. No bid will be accepted unless the bidder or their authorized representative was in attendance.
