Renovation of a fire / police facility in Bloomington, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
This project is requesting to replace the roof on both the original building and the addition on the north side of the building. The Roof at Headquarters Fire Station, 310 North Lee St. has had multiple repairs made to extend its life over the years. These repairs have been completed knowing the roof has exceeded its life span. Many leaks are no longer able to be resealed and the roof has reached its end-of-life cycle. The building was originally constructed and dedicated in 1973. The current roof is over 20 years old and needs to be replaced to ensure continued use of the building in the future. In 2014 Faithful-Gould evaluated all the fire stations in the city. After their evaluation they recommended that the Roof be replaced in 2018. Should the project be funded the roof on all portions of the building would be replaced with a more energy efficient roof. The project is included in the city's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of May 21, 2025, project has been awarded and contractor identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
