The Project Involves Extending The New 16" Hdpe Gravity Sewer To The New Lift Station Location By Horizontal Directional Drilling On Grade. The 8" Hdpe Force Main Piping From The New Valve Vault To The Connection To The Existing Force Main Shall Also Be Installed By Hdd Methods, In An Effort To Avoid Working Near The 6" High Pressure Gas Main On The East Side Of Menge Avenue. Other Items Of Work Include But Are Not Limited To: Proper Maintenance Of Traffic; Stormwater Management; And Surface Restoration. An Additive Alternate Is Provided For Installing An Interior Protective Coating Inside The New Wet Well. The Work Of Installing The New Wet Well May Require Constructing A Cofferdam For The Wet Well Installation, Bypass Pumping And Dewatering As Required To Complete The Work. Bids May Be Held By The City Of Pass Christian, Mississippi, For A Period Not To Exceed Ninety (90) Days From The Date Of The Opening Of Bids For The Purpose Of Reviewing The Bids And Investigating The Qualifications Of Bidders, Prior To Awarding Of The Contract. SCOPE OF WORK Bids are invited for the furnishing of materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary to relocate the existing lift station, which will include constructing a new valve vault, a new 10’ diameter (I.D.) wet well with new 600 gallon per minute recessed impeller pumps, controls, and SCADA for the Menge Avenue Pump Station. The work may require constructing a cofferdam for the wet well installation, bypass pumping and dewatering as required to complete the work. The work also includes installing a new manhole with a 16” HDPE gravity sewer (bore on grade) to the new wet well by HDD methods and an 8” HDPE force main installed by HDD methods to connect from the new valve vault piping to the existing force main. The contractor shall be responsible for documenting that the removed material was properly disposed of at an approved disposal site. Any imported fill material needed in the performance of the work shall be obtained from facilities permitted by MDEQ and in “good standing”. Documentation demonstrating material was obtained from a permitted facility shall be provided prior to approving payment for the material. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining and maintaining full compliance with any required permits received for this project. Any debris encountered during construction operations, including material from the existing pier shall be disposed of in accordance with local and state regulations. Costs for removal and disposal of any and all miscellaneous or construction debris shall be absorbed. The contractor shall be responsible for providing documentation demonstrating that the debris is disposed of in accordance with local and state regulations.
