Demolition, site work and addition to a swimming pool in Gloucester, Virginia. Working plans call for the addition of a swimming pool; for the demolition of a swimming pool; and for site work for a swimming pool.

Instructions to Bidders provides or explains the following: definitions of terms used in the bidding documents, bidder's representations, information regarding the bidding documents and the prebid conference, bidding procedures, bid consideration procedures, and bid protest procedures. All bids in response to this Invitation to Bid and any resulting contract shall be consistent with and governed by the Virginia Public Procurement Act. MPPDC will have the right to reject all Bids, MPPDC will have the right to reject any Bid not accompanied by the required items in the Bidding Documents, or a Bid which is in any other way incomplete or irregular. The Bidder is encouraged but not required to submit a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each in a sum equal to 100% of the negotiated price and duly executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and satisfactory to MPPDC, as surety, is request for the faithful performance of the contract, the payment from labor and materials, and for the guarantee and maintenance of the work. The successful Bidder may furnish the Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds within ten (10) days of the executed contract. The Bidder is requested to complete and the Bid Bond Form in Appendix E. SITE WORK The Contractor will: o Trim vegetation and shrubbery as necessary to allow the Pool House to be power washed and painted. o Construct a 6 ft. walkway from the parking area on the South of the Pool House to the proposed ramp and entrance porch. Pervious pavers shall be used to construct the walkway. o Construct a 6 ft. walkway from the entrance porch on the north side of the Pool House to the parking area on the north side of the Pool House. Pervious pavers shall be used to construct the walkway. DEMOLITION AND RESTORATION On the First Floor of the Pool House, the Contractor will: o Remove the framing as shown on the construction drawings. o The new ceiling and wall covering materials on the first floor must meet current minimum FEMA standards for Flood Resistant Materials. Class 4 or 5 flood damage resistant materials may include non-paper-faced gypsum board, water-resilient fiber-reinforced gypsum exterior sheathing, or asbestos-cement board, or fiber-cement board. Materials shall be approved by the owner's representative. o Remove one of the garage doors and increase the size of the center column to be directly under the north/south "I" beam. Replace the garage door with 2"X4" stud break away wall.
