Demolition, site work and renovation of a municipal facility in San Rafael, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a 51,278-square-foot, three-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

120 N. Redwood Ground Floor Improvements The project entails the demolition and renovation of existing ground floor interview rooms and mailroom area which comprise the majority of the ground floor office area. Work will include fire sprinkler and accessibility needs, the installation of new mechanical units and distribution, and new electrical lighting, switching and distribution. All walls are non-structural. These activities are to be accomplished in a specific sequence in order to minimize disruption to County operations and accommodate work flow. Questions concerning the Bid should be submitted via online no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "B" General Contracting License at time of bid submittal. All bids must be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount: Signed bidder's bond, cashier's check, certified check or actual cash. For all but cash, a scanned copy of the bidder's security is required to be submitted with the bid. The Undersigned hereby certifies that this bid is genuine and not sham or collusive, or made in the interest or on behalf of any person or business not herein named, and that he has not directly or indirectly induced or solicited any other bidder to furnish a sham bid, or any other person or business to refrain from bidding, and that he has not in any manner sought by collusion to secure himself an advantage over any other bidder. The undersigned hereby agrees that he will, within ten (10) Working Days following written acceptance of this bid and notification of award by the Department of Public Works, execute the formal contract agreement with the County. If, however this Proposal shall be accepted, and the undersigned shall fail to contract as aforesaid, and to furnish the required contract bonds and insurance, with surety satisfactory to the County, within ten (10) Working Days after the notification of award, the Board of Supervisors may, at their option, determine that the bidder has abandoned the contract and thereupon this Proposal and the acceptance thereof shall become null and void and the security accompanying this Proposal shall be forfeited to the County. The undersigned hereby further agrees that this bid is based upon completion of the work within the time limit stipulated in the Instructions to Bidders, and that he will abide by the damages applicable thereto. In compliance with the provisions of the Subletting and Subcontracting Fair Practices Act, California Government Code Section & 4100, et seq., and any amendments thereto, each bidder MUST LIST the name, address, license number, of each subcontractor who will perform work or labor, or render service to the bidder, and his portion of the work to be done. Failure to list subcontractors whose work totals more than one half of one percent (1/2%) of the total amount bid will be considered basis for rejection of the bid. Where no subcontractor is listed, the bidder must be qualified and experienced in that field and agrees to execute that portion of the work with his own forces. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The County of Marin hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business and woman owned business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the California Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for Marin County where the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the Department of Public Works.
