The project involves the replacement of the existing two span structure with a new single-span precast adjacent box beam bridge. Additionally, roadway approach work and a waterline relocation are included within this project. Items of work for the contract are identified more specifically in the Bid Form, Questions due online by Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, until 11:00 AM. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the County of Schuylkill or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder naming the County of Schuylkill as oblige and acceptable surety in the amount of 10 percent of the Total Bid shall be submitted with each bid. THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty. Money orders and personal money orders are not acceptable form of bid security. This bid is for a public works contract and bidder is therefore subject to the provisions, duties, obligations and penalties of the Public Works Employment Verification Act, 43 P.S. 167.1-167.11. This work is the furnishing, installing, maintaining, and relocating of traffic control devices including temporary signing and all materials as shown on the proposed detour plan. This work may include flagging and pilot car operation for guidance of traffic through the temporary traffic control zone and dust control. All work shall be done as specified in PennDOT Publication 408 - Specifications, PennDOT Publication 212 - Official Traffic Control Devices, PennDOT Publication 213 - Temporary Traffic Control Guidelines, and the MUTCD, the special Provisions, PennDOT Standard Drawings, the approved Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP), Plans, and as directed. Also included in this work are all necessary traffic permits and procedures for proper transportation of all materials (including precast concrete units) to and from the project site.
