The successful bidder shall provide all labor, materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to professionally deconstruct and rebuild the pump track at MLK Jr. Park. The pump track is approximately 95ft wide (widest part) x 186ft long. The renovations should include proper drainage to alleviate standing water after a rain shower. o Utilize the construction drawings given to recreate the existing layout, consisting of two distinct loops catering to both beginners and intermediate/advanced youth riders. o Install all new pipe and new stone, washed sand fill soil media and bark mulch as shown on Sheet C5.14 o All new pipes will be 4" PVC schedule 40 slotted pipe instead of HDPE perforated pipe. o The cleanout locations should be 4" to 6" adapter with a 6" perforated pipe cap for overflow. o The Town of Carrboro will have a Benchmark set with referenced elevation near the project site for the contractors use. o The pump track is built using a soil mixture consisting of 75% clay & 25% sand, or a superior combination of screened loam that ensures optimal compaction as recommended by the bidder. Please supply information in Step six of Information Supplied by Bidder if suggesting another combination. o There should be no flat bottoms or tops between the rollers, but instead a continuous curve to transition from one roller to the next. o The height of the peaks should be between 18 - 24 inches tall with the height of the rollers relating directly to the spacing between the peaks. o Soils shall be a minimum of 6" thick except where there are track elements such as berms and rollers. o Once completed the surface of the track should be smooth and uniform, free from rocks, bumps, or ruts.
