The City of Muscatine is requesting proposals for engineering services to assist with a project funded under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program through the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). The proposed project includes sidewalk improvements, including replacement and widening, along Mulberry Avenue between 6th and 10th Streets. Design and cost estimates will be provided for each block to allow the final construction project to be established within the available budget while addressing the blocks that provide the most benefit. If funding allows additional sections of sidewalk within the neighborhood may also be replaced. The scope of services includes topographic surveying, boundary surveying to determine the right of way limits, sidewalk design, ditch design, ADA pedestrian ramp design at street intersections, minimal storm sewer improvements (if necessary), minimal street improvements (if necessary), front end documents, and permitting. No sanitary or water improvements are included in this scope of services. Design will be in accordance with the City of Muscatine standard specifications and/or SUDAS standards. The firm will be required to prepare specifications and documents for the project as a whole for a public bid letting.
