Renovation of a mixed-use development in Surrey, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility; and multi-residential development.
Project Site #1: Hungarian Senior Citizens Home (1564 Marine Dr SW, Vancouver, BC) is owned and operated by the Canadian-Hungarian Housing Society of British Columbia. It is a four-storey wood-framed apartment originally constructed in 1988. The building provides 54 residential units for senior citizens. There is one (1) existing RAM hydraulic passenger elevator in operation which is original to the building. Project Site #2: VBHS Manor (650 Bucketwheel, Vancouver, BC) is owned and operated by The Vancouver Broadway Housing Society. It is a three-storey wood-framed building plus reinforced concrete parkade structure, originally constructed in 1976. The building provides 46 residential units for senior citizens. There is one (1) existing Montgomery hydraulic passenger elevator in operation which is original to the building. Project Site #3: Sorella (525 Abbott Street, Vancouver, BC) is owned by BC Housing/City of Vancouver and operated by the Atira Women's Resource Society. It is an 11 storey high-rise building providing 108 residential units, originally constructed in 2011. The two (2) elevators installed at Sorella Housing for Women are the original ThyssenKrupp TIME, machine room less (MRL) traction passenger elevators.
