Renovation of a mixed-use development in Golden, Colorado. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Reference Number 0000353878 Estimated Construction Cost: $4,600,000.00 The Colorado School of Mines requests submittals for of Mechanical Contractors or General Contractors for the expansion of Chiller Plant 6 in Brown Hall. A Mechanical Contractor that can show the capability to act as the Prime General Contractor may be selected. The project will include addition of 2 centrifugal water chillers, a cooling tower, heat exchangers, pumps, HVAC controls & water treatment, and electrical power. Mechanical and/or General Contractors must demonstrate recent experience in building improvements of similar size and type in a campus environment. This is Step 1 of a two-step solicitation process where qualification packages will be reviewed, evaluated, and scored for each submitting firm. The highestranking firms will be included as , short-listed Mechanical and/or General Contractors. Step 2 will be invitation to short-listed Mechanical and/or General Contractors to bid this project. Scope of Services: This is unique to the project, which includes work on an active campus, inside occupied buildings, classrooms, labs, and residence halls. Contractors should provide evidence of experience working in tight, highly visible sites in a campus setting. Contractor should provide evidence of experience with central chiller plant modernization projects, of similar scope and value. In order for a submittal to be considered for evaluation during Step I of this solicitation, all interested firms must provide a response to all six (6) items listed below. Information received from any other source is to be considered when responding to this solicitation. All modifications to this solicitation will be posted on the BIDS website. The Principal Representative has determined that the entire project shall be substantially complete within 16 calendar months from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Each Bid shall be submitted on the required Bid Form and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond on State Buildings Programs Bid Bond Form SC-6.14 in an amount not less than 5% of the total Bid. The Bid Bond may also be (1) a cashier's check or (2) a certified check made payable to the Treasurer of the State of Colorado in an amount not less than 5% of the total Bid. The Bid Bond is submitted as a guaranty that the Bid will be maintained in full force and effect for a period of thirty (30) days after the opening of the Bids for the project. The Bidder promises, in submitting his Bid, that if issued a Notice of Award, he will, within the prescribed time, execute the required Agreement, furnish the required Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, Insurance Policy and Certificates of Insurance, or forfeit his Bid Guaranty as Liquidated Damages. The right is reserved to waive informalities or irregularities and to reject any and all bids.
