This project consists of 13,500 feet of new 6", 8", 10", 12", and 16" water main installation on Dover Avenue, Grant Street, Hawkins Avenue, Highview Avenue, Hillsdale Avenue, Ido Avenue, Indianola Avenue, Inman Street, Jewett Court, Norma Avenue, Ontario Street, Redwood Avenue, Rockwood Drive, Shullo Drive, Storer Avenue, and Sycamore Street. The project also includes tapping mains, tying into existing mains, service line transfers, service line renewals, fire hydrant installations, all water main fittings, pipe abandonment, and proper asphalt, concrete, curb, and earth restoration. Proposal must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of 10% of bids on a solvent bank, or a bid bond in like amount, acceptable to the City of Akron, as a guarantee, that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Proposer to whom the Agreement is awarded will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price for the faithful performance of the contract. The performance and payment bond shall remain in full effect until Final Completion of the Project. EPA Goals: 3.1% MBE and 2.3% WBE. Engineer's Estimate: $4,329,893.
