In general, the improvements for which bids are requested will consist of the following: Replacing the Halon Fire Suppression system at the Greenup Hydro-Electric Plant. The Greenup Hydro-Electric Generating Station began construction in 1978 and came online in 1982. The plant came equipped with a Halon fire suppression system for (3) transformer vaults, (1) emergency generator room, and (1) diesel generator tank room. Halon has fallen out of favor in the industry and should the fire suppression system go off, there would be no readily available means of replacing the extinguished bottles. The goal of this project is to replace this Halon system with a newer, more modern solution to protect the plant for years to come Site Location: 3263 Kenyon Rd, Franklin Furnace, OH 45629 subject to the right of the Owner to reject any or all bids, the Owner will award contracts to the bidder(s) submitting the lowest and best responsible bid(s). Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including all add alternates) or a certified check, cashier's check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. This is a Ohio Prevailing Wage project. No Bidder may withdraw its bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the lowest and best responsible bidder(s).
