After opening, the bids will be compared as to quality, thoroughness, and cost by Buckeye Local School District, and its Architect (McKinley Architecture and Engineering). In general, the Work of this bid package includes but may not be limited to interior renovations and improvements to the existing art room at Buckeye Local High School. Scope includes building partitions, new finishes, new sink, mechanical, electrical and plumbing system changes and upgrades. A Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and issued by a surety company approved by and in favor of the Owner in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a Contract, if given the award. See Division 0 and 1 of the project manual/specifications issued in the bidding documents for additional bidding and construction phase requirements. Attention is called to the fact that no less than the minimum salaries and wages, as set forth in the contract documents, must be paid on this project, and that the contractor must insure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin. No accepted Bid shall be waived or returned because the Bidder failed to, or cannot comply with, all requirements as set forth in Bidding Documents. Further, the successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the contract price. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days without the consent of the Owner. To the extent permitted by state law, the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in its own best interest.
