A typical crown of 3% must be established. The Tenderer is required to submit with its Tender, a Consent of Surety and a Bid Bond in a form acceptable to the CITY, or in lieu of a Bid Bond, a Tenderer may submit, along with a Consent of Surety, a certified cheque or an irrevocable letter of credit in favour of the CITY equal to 10% of the Tender Sum as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract for the Work, the Tenderer will execute a contract and submit the Performance Bond and the Labour and Material Payment Bond referred to in Article 10 within the specified time frames.
