The White County Department of Finance, on behalf of the White County Board of Education, is soliciting bids for renovations at the White County Career Academy on the White County High School Campus located at 267 Allen Drive in Sparta, Tennessee. The information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Performance and Payment Bond, and other contract documents may be examined at the following: Upland Design Group, Inc. Crossville, Tennessee Each bid must be accompanied by a bidder's bond executed by the bidder and a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Tennessee, for the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount bid. In-lieu-of a bid bond a cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, made payable to the Owner, will be accepted. The successful bidder will be required to execute a Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, or other security such as letter of credit as described in Tennessee Code Annotated 12-4-201. Bonds must be accompanied by Power of Attorney. The owner (White County) further reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any and all informalities and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder, and the right to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. Scope of Work A. The work included under these Specifications and the accompanying drawings consists of providing all items, articles, materials, operations or methods listed, mentioned or scheduled on the drawings and/or herein, including all labor, materials, services, equipment and incidentals for the construction of the White County Career Center - Career Kitchen for White County Schools. In general, the work includes modification and build-out to an unused portion of an existing building; the building is currently used for vocational education, and was previously a supermarket. The area of work was previously the stock room / meat department. B. The Architect and Owner have attempted to identify all scopes of work; however, all incidental parts of the work may not be identified in the documents. All collateral or accompanying work required in order to accommodate work specifically shown in the documents shall be included in the Contractors bid, and shall not be cause for issuance of change orders. Scope Of Work A. Provide the labor, materials, equipment and services to complete modification of existing Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing System, as shown on the drawings and as hereinafter specified. B. This work involves modification of the existing roof to accommodate new penetrations and equipment, and sealing new penetrations water-tight. C. The existing roof is under warranty and all modifications made to the roof must not affect the warranty. Roof is currently being maintained by Turner Roofing of Crossville, Tennessee (931-494-5307)
