Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

This Public Improvement Generally Consists of the Replacement of 36 Windows and the Residing of the Lodge With a Low-maintenance "fibre-cement Board", Prefinished Siding, to Prairie Oak Lodge; Address: Wanatee Park 4201 Big Bluestem Dr., Marion, IA, 52302. General Scope of Work: Remove and Dispose of the Existing Siding on Prairie Oak Lodge and Replace It With a Pre-finished maintenance free Siding, hardi-plank. All Trim Will Be a Pre-finished Pvc Product. Also, the Final 36 Windows of the Main Body of the Lodge Will Be Replaced With Non-operable Windows Since We Now Have Air Conditioning in the Lodge. The Contractor Is Also Responsible for the Interior Trim For All the New Windows. From Past Experience on Replacing Other Windows In the Lodge, Anderson Windows Seem to Need the Least Amount of Interior Trim Work. The Contractor Will Be Required to Obtain a Building Permit From the Linn County Planning & Zoning Department There Will Be No Cost for This Permit. Estimated Cost: $150,000.00 All addenda issued during the bidding period are to be covered in the bid and in closing a contract they are to become a part thereof. Final date for addenda to be issued will be Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, by noon. Each proposal shall be made on the proposal form prepared for this purpose. Any alteration in the official form of proposal will entitle the County, at its option, to reject the proposals involved from consideration. The bid will be a LUMP SUM BID. Submit your Signed bid on your company letterhead. Bidding periods are to be covered in the bid, and in closing a contract they are to become a part thereof. By virtue of statutory authority and provisions, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa. It is intended that a contract be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder who is within the counties budgetary amount. Prices quoted shall be guaranteed for a period of sixty (60) days after date of the bid. Linn County and its Conservation Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor informalities in any bid or to make award in the best interest of the County.By virtue of statutory authority and provisions, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa. All bids are required to provide a statement regarding their residency status as required by 875 Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 156. All bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Iowa. All contractors must be insured with both liability insurance as well as contractors insurance, and provide proof of insurance if they are the accepted bidder. Contractors using "materials, supplies and equipment" on projects in designated "exempt entities" may purchase these items without liability for sales tax. The contractor must have a purchasing agent authorization letter and an exemption certificate from the public entity to present to the retailer, which specifies the construction project and will be available for that project only. Owner will issue an authorization letter and an exemption certificate to the contractor and/or subcontractors for the purchase or use of building materials, supplies, and equipment to be used on this project only. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date of the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. It is the intent of the owner to award a contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the bidding requirements. Those projects that are funded wholly with Linn County, Iowa funds and to which Linn County, Iowa, or its Conservation Board are signatory; the successful bidders must comply with all county regulations, safety and OSHA regulations, and affirmative action programs.
