Kuhio Avenue Bus Only Lane Improvements The project includes the striping of a dedicated bus only lane along Kuhio Avenue in the westbound direction with additive alternates for the eastbound direction. New pavement striping, symbols and arrows, custom signage, and the relocation of existing signs will be required. AWARD OF CONTRACT For this solicitation, the City will consider additive or deductive alternates. The City shall award a contract to the responsive, responsible Offeror with the lowest offer, considering any applicable preferences. The City will determine the lowest offer by adding alternates to, or deducting alternates from, the total basic bid. Alternates, if any are awarded, shall be added or deducted in the order listed in the solicitation. Award of alternates are subject to availability of funding. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES When the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the Contract or any extension thereof, it is agreed the Contractor shall pay to the City the amount specified below. Liquidated damage per calendar day: $1,500.00. Bid Security Amount. Bid security amount shall be equal to at least five percent of the Offeror's total bid amount. Contract performance and payment bonds shall be required for all Construction projects greater than $50,000.00 and shall be one hundred percent of the contract amount.
