Dixie Highway - Willard to Birch Run Road This work consists of furnishing and placing HMA mixture(s), utilizing Superpave mixture design techniques, onto a Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer (SAMI) chip seal. The project contains dry process crumb rubber modified HMA demonstration (test) sections(s) that will be evaluated for long term performance by the Engineer, in conjunction with Michigan Technological University (MTU), and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE) Furnish HMA mixtures of the Standard Specifications for Construction, except as modified herein. This specification includes mix specifications for control HMA mixture(s) and crumb rubber modified HMA mixture(s). Adjust all equipment and methods as necessary to properly accommodate the modifications specified herein. Prepare and submit to the Engineer and MTU an HMA Test Section Paving Proposal for approval. The Engineer will schedule a Mandatory HMA pre-production meeting at least 7 calendar days prior to the start of HMA production. Required personnel shall include the Project Superintendent, Paving Superintendent, HMA-QC Plan Administrator, and any subcontractor involved in HMA quality control, sampling, or testing. HMA production and paving will not be permitted until the HMA Test Section Paving Proposal is approved by the Engineer and the mandatory pre-production meeting has been held. Furnish all HMA mixtures not specified herein according to Standard Specifications. Place all HMA mixtures according to Standard Specifications for Construction and the HMA Application Estimate. Major items of work: HMA,GTR 14,074 TON Trenching,Modified 200 STA Cold Milling HMA Surface 52,618 SYD If any person contemplating submitting a proposal is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the drawings, specifications or other contract documents, or finds discrepancies in or omissions from the drawings or specifications, he/she may submit to the Engineer a written request for an interpretation or correction thereof. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation or correction of the documents will be made only by addendum, duly issued, and a copy of the addendum will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of the contract documents. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for any other explanations or interpretations of the contract documents.
