The purpose of this RFP is to solicit sealed cost proposals from qualified, Florida licensed contractors for the organic removal, backfilling, and air curtain installation within Canal 147 located in Lower Matecumbe Key, Village of Islamorada, Florida. The proposed restoration of Canal 147 involves the removal of organic material from the bottom of the canal, backfilling the deep existing dredged sections within the canal to maximize tidal flushing, and the installation of an air curtain at the mouth of the canal to reduce the amount of seaweed entering the canal, also referred to herein as the "Project". The Village anticipates selecting one firm to perform the services. Proposals are requested from Contractors that have a demonstrated ability to perform the tasks identified in the Scope of Services and Deliverables in this RFP. There is no pre-bid meeting for this RFP. CONTRACTOR shall obtain and thereafter at all times during the performance of the Scope of Work maintain a separate performance bond and labor and material payment bond for the Scope of Work, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price and each in the form provided in the Contract Documents or in other form satisfactory to and approved in writing by VILLAGE and executed by a surety of recognized standing with a rating of B plus or better for bonds up to Two Million Dollars.
