Saving Project...

Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Fort Montgomery, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Proposals from firms of licensed professional engineers to design a deck replacement for the Bear Mountain Bridge. The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places and requires a substantial SEQRA and SHPO review. All SEQRA and SHPO tasks as well as all necessary permit pre-applications are a part of the assignment. The Bear Mountain Bridge is a 2,555 foot long suspension bridge, carrying NYS Routes 6 and 202 over the Hudson River, located approximately 35 miles north of New York City. The bridge was opened in 1924 and was redecked in 1976 and supports two (2) 12 foot lanes and two (2) 7 foot wide shoulders. Work will involve evaluating 3-4 deck replacement systems for use on this project, including panelized or modular deck replacement systems. It is the intent of this project to provide a new deck and existing stringers and floor beams with an HS25 load rating a fifty (50) year expected life service. The successful proposer shall demonstrate to NYSBA a successful history of similar performances for operators of bridges of the type and size of NYSBA's facilities.
