Amtrak is accepting Letters of Interest for Construction Services in support of the Rugby Station Boiler Replacement Project in Rugby, ND. Amtrak, at its sole discretion and without discussion, will determine which Contractors are to be added to its short list for the forthcoming Invitation to Bid (IFB) WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS Replace existing boiler. The scope of work for this project consists of: In-kind replacement of existing 80% efficient boiler. The boiler is in the basement of the station. Rigging the new boiler and/or existing boiler may be necessary. Assembly of the new boiler in the basement may also be necessary. The Rugby, ND (RUG) station is a historical station, the existing flue must be reused. o Any material replacements or alterations to the building must be preapproved by Amtrak. Before work on this project can be started, a hazardous waste survey will be completed by the Amtrak environmental department. The contractor is responsible for the proper disposal of the existing boiler and any other construction debris, per the Hazardous/Universal waste requirements for the State of North Dakota. The specifications for the existing boiler are as follows: o Boiler Model No Weil-McLain PFG-7 o Series No 4 o Type of Gas Natural o Input, Btu/hr 390,000 o Max. Inlet Gas Press., w.c. 13.0 o Min. Inlet Gas Press., w.c. 5.0 o Manifold Gas Press., w.c. 3.5 o G. A. Gross Output, Btu/hr 304,200 o Water, Mbh 265 o Maximum W.P. Water 50 PSI o Min. Relief Valve Cap 305 LB/HR or MBH
