Renovation of a municipal facility in Bedford, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 500-square-foot municipal facility.
Bedford County will receive sealed bids for the construction of: Bedford County Courthouse Roof Replacement. Replacement of steel deck. 1. Description: Removal of deteriorated roof steel decking and replacement with steel decking matching existing in gauge and profile. 2. Unit of Measurement: Square foot of decking. 3. Quantity Allowance: 500 Square Feet. The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be according to 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia. Bidders failing to comply therewith waive all rights to claim error. Bidding information including drawings, specifications, and addenda containing information necessary for bidding, may be obtained from the following: Bright Images Lynchburg, VA (434) 845-1203; Southern Graphics Roanoke, VA (540) 342-6449; Valley Construction News Roanoke, VA, online. Each bidder shall place on the outside of the envelope containing his bid and in his bid over his signature one of the following notations: Registered Virginia Contractor No. _, or Registration not required under Chapter 11, Title 54.1, Code of Virginia. All Bids shall remain valid for a period of forty-five (45) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of Bids. The Owner intends to award Contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting the requirements of the Instructions to Bidders and this Advertisement for Bids, providing the amount falls within the amount of funds available. The Owner reserves the right to award each site to a different bidder. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to award Contract to other than the lowest bidder if in his opinion such action favors his best interests. If the lowest Bid exceeds available funds, the Owner may enter into negotiations with the lowest responsible Bidder to lower the Bid within the available funds. For the failure of the Contractor to substantially complete the project by the date stated in Paragraph 7.0 C above, the Contractor shall pay to the Owner, as damages, the sum of $100.00 per day for each day that the Date of Substantial Completion is delayed in accordance with the Contract Agreement. The scheduled starting date is upon the award by the County unless notified otherwise by the County or its agent in writing. The substantial completion inspection is scheduled within 100 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, at which time the project is to be complete, functional, and ready for use. All punchlist items must be complete by 30 days after Substantial Completion. Bonds shall be with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. The successful bidder shall furnish to the Owner a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to the full contract sum payable to the Owner. The Owner will accept an Irrevocable Letter of Credit for the full contract amount in place of the required bonds. Question Deadline 06/21/2024: No oral interpretations of the Bid Documents will be made to any bidder. To be given consideration, requests for interpretations must be received in time to allow preparation of a written response at least five (5) days prior to date fixed for opening of bids. Interpretations will be issued in the form of written addenda to the Bid Documents and provided to all parties recorded as having received Bid Documents, prior to the scheduled opening of bids. Only interpretations by formal written addenda will be binding.
