The Project intent and mission consists of renovating Building B, on the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Campus in an effort to "Get back to its roots". The school was built on supporting manufacturing and machine tool technology for students entering the workforce. The project scope is mainly limited to interior alteration, renovation and upgrades within Type IIB construction, with the exception of a new covered canopy at the back of the building and limited replacement of exterior glazing. The renovation will include spacial redesign of building program to accomodate the colleges advanced technology labs, Horticulture, Interiors, Design Media, and General classrooms. The redesign incorporates existing utility systems and reconfigures fixtures per the new space layouts and client needs. Deductive alternates have been identified by the school and are represented throughout the set of documents. Upgrades include new student collaboration areas and a new student success center for the campus off the main lobby. Utility upgrades include fire alarm, boilers, pumps, water heaters, and a sub panel added for new equipment servicing the advanced tech lab.
