Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Preston, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; educational facility; and educational facility.

Base Bids A: Site / Foundation / Utilities. Work consists of site demolition, site grading, concrete drive, concrete sidewalks, greenhouse foundation, greenhouse concrete slab, and greenhouse trench drains. Utility work includes storm water piping and inlets, new domestic water service, domestic water piping, yard hydrants, underground gas piping, and underground conduits. Question Deadline 06/12/2024 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Contact information and submittal procedures for such questions are as follows: A. Amanda Springer, Project Administrative Assistant (aspringer@klingner.com) Subject Line to read: Easton Valley New Greenhouse Bidding Question Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Work shall commence on 7/1/2024 and be substantially complete by 9/1/2024. Base Bid B: Greenhouse: Work consists of constructing the new greenhouse. Work includes the erection of the owner provided greenhouse, installation of owner provided louvers and owner provided exhaust fans. Items provided and installed by the contractor include above grade gas piping, unit heaters, electrical feeder from existing school, electrical panelboard, electrical branch circuits for equipment, receptacles, lighting, and fire alarm work. Work shall commence on 9/1/2024 and be substantially complete by 11/1/2024. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid submitted. This bid security shall be filed in a separate envelope from the bid and labeled as such. Bid security must be in the form of a bid bond or certified check. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities or irregularities as allowed by law and to enter into such contract as shall be deemed in the best interest of the District.
