The work to be done under this contract includes sidewalk and related driveway approach and curb and gutter reconstruction at various locations in the City of Lawrence. Work includes approximately 17,500 square feet of concrete sidewalk, 1,600 square yards of reinforced concrete pavement, 1,400 square feet of access ramps, 550 linear feet of curb and gutter, and 1,150 square feet of 2-inch asphalt mill and overlay. The bid number shall be referenced in the email subject line. The questions deadline is June 25th , 2024 2:00 PM Central Time Zone. All questions will receive an official written response from the City and will become addenda to this Bid. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond no less than 5% of the amount of the bid made payable to the City of Lawrence, retained by the City Commission until a contract for the project shall have been awarded. Checks will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders when their bids are rejected. The City Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive informalities. SCOPE This division governs all work, materials and testing required for installation of waterlines of the respective types and sizes shown on the Plans for the particular location and conforming to the requirements of these specifications. All pipelines shall be constructed to proper line and grade as shown on the Plans and shall result in an unobstructed, smooth and uniform conduit. GENERAL A. Description Waterline construction shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment for the complete installation of waterlines and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents, standard drawings, approved shop drawings, General Provisions and these specifications. These specifications govern materials for water mains having a diameter of two inches (50 mm) through 12 inches (300 mm).
