This Request for Proposals (the "RFP") is an invitation by the Calgary Public Library (the "Library") to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Patricia A. Whelan Performance Hall Review. The Patricia A. Whelan Performance Hall is a theatre-style space with 326 fixed seats and 10 accessible spots. There is a mezzanine at the south side of the space for networking, pre or post-event receptions, and resource fairs. The stage is approximately 500 square feet and includes three adjacent spaces (backstage area - accessible via the stage, a green room, and a dressing/change room. The AV systems can be controlled within the space, or for more sophisticated set ups in the control room that is outside of the space on the east side on stage level. The venue holds 250 + events a year that are a mix of in-house programming, partnered events, and 3rd party rentals of the space. The Patricia A. Whelan Performance Hall hosts film screenings, author events, panel discussions, all candidates' forums, concerts and other performances. The deliverables of this RFP include a review, assessment, and recommendations for repair, updates, and enhancements to features within the Patricia A. Whelan Performance Hall to best support in-house use of the space and 3rd party rentals. This includes: 1. aa review of the audio and visual system and, components, as well as and an integration and assessment of the current stage and house lighting system in the Patricia A. Whelan Performance Hall;. 2. Addition deliverables include conducting an accessibility review of the hall, including the seated area, stage, mezzanine, backstage areas, and , entrances and exits; 3. An assessment of the current Crestron integration of for the in-house AV system, along with making and recommendations to improve and enhance it.
