for the 2024 Water Main Improvements Project which includes, but is not limited to, services to clean and line and remove and replace sections of water mains and all related appurtenances on Pleasant Street in the Town of Manchester by-the-Sea, MA. The project includes 2 Alternates which include cleaning and lining and removing and replacing water mains on Pleasant St., Arbella St. and Old Essex Rd. Contractor Qualification Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Contractor shall complete all Work as specified or indicated in the Contract Documents. The Scope of Work includes the following principal features and all materials, equipment, services and construction inherent to the Work. Installation & maintenance and removal of temporary water service in high pressure zones. Installation of cement lined water mains and removal of existing water mains & all associated appurtenances along School Street, alternate items as requested; Cleaning and cement mortar lining of existing water mains including access pits, new water main piping to re-connect mains & all other required work to complete the project. Installation of new hydrants & connections to existing water system; Installation of new water service connections Temporary trench restoration in areas disturbed PROJECT DESCRIPTION A. Install temporary water bypass for high pressure and flow zone of Pleasant Street. Clean existing water mains as shown and install cement mortar lining within the existing water mains to remain, excavation, removal & replacement, abandonment, and improvement of existing mains, and associated features shown on the Contract Drawings on and around Pleasant Street in the Town of Manchester-By-The-Sea (OWNER). Provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials and services required to complete the Work. 1.03 DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK A. The Work includes labor, material and equipment, services required in accordance with the Contract Documents and as more specifically described in the Specifications and Drawings, and includes, but is not limited to the following. 1. Installation of 12 & 6 temporary water bypass along Pleasant St prior to beginning water main cleaning/replacement to accomplish the work including 12 and 6 main taps on the 16 beyond limit of work to provide consistent Town demand flows. 2. Clean and install cement mortar lining within the existing 16 water mains & all associated appurtenances along Pleasant St. as shown on contract drawings. Excavate, remove, and install new CLDI water main as shown on drawings to connect to existing mains in locations as shown on contract drawings. 3. Alternate 1 - Excavate, remove, and install new 8 CLDI water main, water services & all associated appurtenances along Old Essex Rd as shown on contract drawings.
