In general, the Elm Street work includes removal of existing drive aprons, curb/gutter, pavement and subgrade, with the reconstruction of the roadway to include drain tile, thickened base course, curb/gutter, aprons, and pavement. The work also includes the spot removal and replacement of curb/gutter and the full removal and replacement of the pavement on Schlegel Street. The project may be started in July, 2024, but must be substantially completed by August 14, 2024 - prior to the Athens Fair, or, started after the fair on August 19, 2024, and substantially completed by October 15, 2024. The approximate units of the major work items are as follows; Schlegel Street 1) Remove existing asphalt, curb, and aprons - 806 sq. yds. 2) Concrete curb - 121 lin. ft. 3) Asphalt pavement -150 tons Elm Street 1) Remove existing asphalt, curb, and aprons - 1920 sq yds 2) Base course - 1,060 cu. yds. 3) Concrete curb and gutter - 830 ft. 4) Concrete apron - 433 sq. ft. 5) 4" drain tile - 921 ft. 6) Asphalt pavement - 300 tons This project is not subject to State of Wisconsin prevailing wage rates. Portions of this project will be funded with Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) funding. No bids shall be considered unless submitted on the official proposal form. Bids shall be submitted with a minimum 5% Bid Bond. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the total bid price, together with an executed Agreement in the form prescribed by the village, will be required of the successful bidder. The Village of Athens reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding, and to award the contract in the best interest of the village. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the actual time of opening the bids.
