Questions received less than three days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The overall description of the project, to be completed under one contract, is the reconstruction of approximately 425 feet of an urban street section. In general, the work includes removal of existing drive aprons, sidewalk, curb/gutter and pavement, and the reconstruction of the roadway with drain tile, base course, curb/gutter, aprons, sidewalk, pavement, and replacement of sewer and water mains and laterals. The project start date is April 15, 2025 and the substantial completion date is set at August 8, 2025. The approximate units of the major work items are as follows; 1) Remove Existing asphalt, curb, aprons, and sidewalk - 2,214 sq. yds. 2) Base Course -1,025 cu. yds. 3) Concrete Curb and Gutter - 789 feet 4) Concrete Sidewalk and Apron - 352 sq. yds. 5) Draintlle - 822 feet 6) Asphalt Pavement - 288 tons 7) Sanitary Sewer Replacement -197 feet 8) Water Main Replacement - 520 feet 9) Lateral Replacement - 5 each This project Is not subject to State of Wisconsin prevailing wage rates. No bids shall be considered unless submitted on the official proposal form. Bids shall be submitted with a minimum 5% bid bond. The Village of Athens reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding, and to award the contract in the best interest of the village. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the actual time of opening the bids. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the total bid price, together with an executed Agreement in the form prescribed by the village, will be required of the successful bidder.
