Site work and asbestos abatement for a mixed-use development in Inez, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.
The Martin County Fiscal Court will be accepting bids for a qualified contractor for Asbestos Abatement and Lead-Containing Paint Stabilization project for the Old Grassy School, located approximately 6 miles from Inez next to Grassy Park on old KY RT 3. Responsibilities for this project include the following: o Asbestos Containing Materials that must be removed and disposed of in accordance to state guidelines. o Lead-Containing Paint which must be stabilized, removed and disposed of in accordance to state guidelines. This remediation project is being completed as part of a planned Brownfield redevelopment by Martin County Fiscal Court and is funded in part by a grant from the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet's Cleaner Commonwealth Fund. The source of the funds originates from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the successful bidder will be required to comply with all applicable and cross-cutting federal laws/ provisions. In particular, the work is subject to the provision of the Davis-Bacon and related Acts. Qualified contractors must be able to conduct and document all work under the Davis Bacon Act and be able to start work within four weeks of this posting.
