SCOPE These renovations will provide better access to care and confidentiality for both customers and staff. The current clinic spaces are no longer able to accommodate the demands of the current programming to serve the individuals who utilize the space. These renovations will allow the clinic spaces to be more accessible and adaptable to the fluid changes in the public health programs. The Main Clinic (Exhibit A and B) will require extensive demolition of existing HVAC, electrical, data, plumbing, walls, floors, casework, and glazing. Progressing to installation of all new walls, electrical, data, plumbing, HVAC, casework, countertops, STC rated materials, flooring, suspended ceiling grid systems, and fire suppression systems to name some of the scope items. The Kent County Facilities Department in coordination with the Purchasing Division and collaboration with Ghafari Associates, is soliciting bids for a General Contractor to remodel the Main Health Clinic. Once the project is started, work will be continuous until the point of completion. Kent County, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to award to the Respondent whose response is deemed most advantageous to Kent County. Where price is a consideration, delivery, project schedule, warranty, maintenance, and life cycle costs will be utilized in evaluating this award. Renovations must be completed and closed out to owner acceptance before 12/31/2025. Each offer over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for 5% of the total amount of the offer. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file a certified dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Personal checks are NOT acceptable. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract.
